Before I started this class, I knew I enjoyed taking pictures of good quality and playing with the effects, but in retrospect, I was not very knowledgeable. From the beginning, I liked taking the photos and making them look really crisp and focused. I was amazed at what the camera could do with just a few little steps required by me. My beginning photos were okay for a beginner, but they definitely improved throughout the class. To the right are two pictures I used for composition, our first assignment. Throughout the class and the weekly photos, I started to spend more time finding things to photograph and considered what made good photos more. The elements that we were learning brought me closer to being a good photographer every week. Some of my favorite weekly photos took a lot of time to take. I am very proud of the effort I put in and how these photos turned out. I had never used photoshop before and it seemed like it was very hard to use, but I learned tons of tools to use and became knowledgeable on photoshop. I learned how to fix blemishes, layer things together, make masks, and much much more. I will be able to use these for a long time and that is very beneficial. Overall, this class has been a very rewarding experience and I am very glad I took it.

Assignment Description:For this assignment, we were supposed to take multiple photos of a subject in the same setting, but place the subject in different locations and positions. Then, we used photoshop to place them all together for a multiple me effect. Reflection:This assignment created a really cool effect and it forced us to use different photoshop tools and camera tools. We had to use a tripod an find a good location. I enjoyed it.
Assignment Description: For this assignment, we had to recreate popular puns using only photos and some occasional words. The idea is that the viewer can figure it out by studying it for a little while. Reflection: This assignment was really fun! We got to be clever and use our senses of humor to create the puns. One of the most fun assignments yet!
For this assignment, we had to choose words and definitions from the dictionary and attach photos that went along with the words. Reflection: This assignment was very enjoyable and gave me good practice with photoshop. It was cool to accumulate all the photoshop skills I have learned thus far and use them all in one assignment.
Assignment description: For this assignment, we were supposed to find interesting photoshop tutorials and recreate them using our prior knowledge as well as the new tools within the tutorial. Reflection: This assignment was very challenging, but I think I problem solved and created pretty interesting photos. The people online make them look easy, but they are truly really challenging. I used lots of new tools like distortion and color finder, which are valuable for the future when using photoshop.
Assignment description: For the black and white assignment, we are supposed to capture really good and pretty photos, and then edit them to be black and white. I really like the photos I captured, and putting them in black and white made them look even cooler. Reflection: This assignment was a a very good assignment to finish with. It was enjoyable to take really interesting pictures one last time and to picture them in black and white as I was taking them. I really enjoy the finished products.
Assignment Description: For the food photo assignment, we are supposed to capture pictures of food and make them look appetizing and clean. Basically, it should look good enough to eat and appeal to the senses. Reflection: I love cookies, so photographing them was fun. This was one of the easiest assignments I have done thus far because I could control the lighting and the subject was very still. The camera did most of the work except for minimal staging that I did.
Description: For this photoshop assignment, we were to take an ordinary picture of something in or around the school and photoshop objects into the photo to make it look completely new and different. Reflection: I really enjoyed doing this assignment. It was very fun to change things around in the photo to make our campus look super different and weird. It was at times challenging to get everything to fit and look like it was supposed to be there, especially the wave. I learned a lot on how to trim and select and place things in photoshop and how to manipulate layers to create depth.
Assignment Description: For this assignment, people, we are supposed to take pictures of people or a person we know and capture their personalities in the photos. We should use the right setting to get a good portrait shot. I feel that I captured my mom's personality very well because she is very bubbly and happy. and you can see this in the photo. Reflection: I really enjoyed taking pictures of my mom. It was fun to see her personality come across in pictures. It took a couple tries to get the right settings for the environment we were in and the amount of light there was, but in the end the photo captured my mom and turned out well.
Assignment Description: For this assignment, portrait, we were supposed to learn about and use different types of lighting and setups to take portrait pictures of our classmates. We did two different shoots: one in a professional lighting and setup studio, and one using just natural light with a bounce card to reflect the light. Personally, I like the natural look of the photo with natural light. Reflection: This assignment was really fun to do because we got to go into a studio where actual photographers might take pictures. The equipment and lighting was exciting to use. Getting the right light on the subject in both cases was challenging, but more so with the natural lighting shoot because we had to position the bounce card just right to reflect the right amount of light in the right spot. It was very challenging to figure out how to frame the photos with no help, but I am glad we had to problem solve. I enjoyed this assignment a lot.
